Ahhhh, autumn. Crisp air, pumpkin-spiced everything, cozy blankets… and dry, flaky skin 🄲. Some days, my cheeks feel tight, my forehead looks like sandpaper, and my lips might as well be Sahara sand.

After testing a bunch of not-so-random kitchen ingredients, I’ve landed on three autumn DIY mask for dry skin. They actually bring my glow back without smelling like a weird salad experiment.

3 Autumn DIY Face Masks to Combat Dry Skin

Pumpkin + Cinnamon + Yogurt Brightening Mask

This one smells like autumn in a bowl and instantly perks up tired, dull skin.

You’ll need:

  • 1 tbsp pure pumpkin puree

  • 1 tsp honey - try to use an organic one; it’s better quality. Don’t get fooled by the syrup they usually sell in big-box stores. It’s better to invest than apply sugar syrup to your face, lol.

  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional if you have sensitive skin!)

How to make it:

Mix into a bowl until it forms a smooth paste, apply a thin layer, and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then, rinse carefully (cinnamon can be staining, so avoid contact with clothes).

Why it works:

Pumpkin is packed with vitamins A & C for brightening. Cinnamon gently stimulates circulation (skin perk-up vibes!). Yogurt and honey lock in hydration. It smells like fall and works like magic.

Cocoa + Avocado + Aloe Hydrating Mask

For those days when your skin is screaming ā€œhydrate me now,ā€ this is your spa-at-home fix.

You’ll need:

How to make it:

Mash avocado and cocoa together, then stir in aloe. Apply generously for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and enjoy your soft, plump skin.

Why it works:

Avocado is rich in fatty acids, cocoa has antioxidants, and aloe soothes. The lavender adds a little aromatherapy to calm your brain too. Basically, it’s cozy autumn self-care in one go.

Honey + Oat Comfort Mask

This is my ultimate comfort mask — gentle, soothing, and perfect for when the cold air has my skin feeling tight.

You’ll need:

  • 1 tbsp ground oats

  • 1 tsp organic honey

  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt (or aloe vera gel for extra gentle hydration)

How to make it:

Mix all ingredients into a creamy paste. Apply to clean skin for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Why it works:

Oats gently exfoliate and soothe irritation. Honey hydrates and has natural antibacterial properties. Yogurt locks in moisture and adds a subtle glow. Comfort in a jar, basically.

Tips for Masking in Autumn

  • Always patch test new ingredients.

  • Stick to 1–2x per week.

  • Moisturize afterward for extra hydration.

  • Make it cozy: light a candle, play soft music, sip tea — the ritual is as important as the mask.

The Importance of Self-Care

At the end of the day, glowing skin isn’t just about the ingredients — it’s about slowing down, taking a few minutes for yourself, and enjoying a little comfort in your routine.

So, grab your favorite ingredients and let’s whip up some magic! Remember, self-care is a journey, not a destination. Embrace the cozy vibes and treat yourself to some pampering.
